This thesis aims to examine the concept of humanity as a virtue and the power of film design as portrayed in Ridley Scott’s Blade Runner. Through the analysis of the film characters in terms of Martin Heidegger’s philosophy, the thesis identifies the attributes of a Being and proposes that these characteristics may be extended to artificial minds.
