Bacteriocinogeny of yersiniae: molecular interactions of colicin FY with a susceptible bacterial cell

Bacteriocinogeny of yersiniae: molecular interactions of colicin FY with a susceptible bacterial cell
Abstract:
Bakteriociny jsou antimikrobiální látky produkované bakteriemi. Významnou skupinou bakteriocinů jsou koliciny - toxické exoproteiny produkované některými kmeny čeledi Enterobacteriaceae. Vysoce specifické molekulární interakce kolicinu s komponentami bakteriálního obalu podmiňují buněčnou specifitu těchto molekul. Typickým producentem kolicinů jsou bakterie druhu E. coli, avšak produkce byla popsána …more
Abstract:
Bacteriocins are antimicrobial agents produced by bacteria. One important group of bacteriocins is represented by colicins – toxic exoproteins produced by several strains of the family Enterobacteriaceae. Highly specific molecular interactions of a colicin with the bacterial envelope lead to a high cell specificity of these molecules. The typical producer of colicins is E. coli; however, the colicinogeny …more
