Abstract:

Dizertační práce s názvem Jazyková a jazykovědná problematika a její reflexe v díle vybraných českých spisovatelů se zaměřuje na výzkum názorů na český jazyk a lingvistické otázky v díle vybraných českých autorů 19. a 20. století. Spisovatelé Jan Neruda (1834-1891), Svatopluk Čech (1846-1908), Karel Čapek (1890-1938) a Karel Poláček (1892-1945) měli totiž zájem nejenom o literární tvorbu a umění, ale i o češtinu, což se v jejich díle projevovalo především v rámci textů umělecké publicistiky, např. eseje, fejetony, sloupky. Cílem práce je vyhodnocení autorských konceptů jazykových a jazykovědných otázek, a to s ohledem na kulturně-politický kontext období přibližně od poloviny 19. století do první třetiny 20. století, např. germanizace, vlastenecké aktivity, znovuzískání nezávislosti, nástup totalitních režimů. V rámci tématu je věnována pozornost otázkám kodifikace spisovné češtiny, vnímání mluvené řeči, zneužívání slov, významu národního jazyka či vlivu umění (literatura, divadlo) na český jazyk. Rovněž jsou reflektována vlastní jména a jejich používání, což představovalo významnou část pozornosti daných autorů patřící jazyku a jazykovědné problematice, např. vliv městské módy na volbu antroponym, standardizace urbanonym, reklamní funkce proprií či adaptační procesy exonym.

Abstract:

The PhD thesis Language and linguistic issues and their reflection in the works of selected Czech writers focuses on the research of views on the Czech language and linguistic issues in the works of selected Czech authors of the 19th and 20th centuries. The writers Jan Neruda (1834-1891), Svatopluk Čech (1846-1908), Karel Čapek (1890-1938) and Karel Poláček (1892-1945) were interested not only in literary creation and art, but also in the Czech language, which was manifested in their work mainly in the texts of art journalism, e.g. essays, feuilletons, columns. The aim of the thesis is to evaluate the authors' conceptions of language and linguistic issues, taking into account the cultural and political context of the period from the mid-19th century to the first third of the 20th century, e.g. germanization, patriotic activities, regaining independence, and the rise of totalitarian regimes. The topic includes the codification of written Czech, the perception of spoken language, the misuse of words, the meaning of the national language and the influence of art (literature, theatre) on the Czech language. It also reflects on proper names and their use, which constituted a significant part of the authors' attention to language and linguistic issues, e.g. the influence of urban fashion on the choice of anthroponyms (personal names), the standardization of urbanonyms (street names), the advertising function of proper names or the adaptation processes of exonyms.
