Influence of adjustment to participants' satisfaction with the benefits of international work mobilities

Abstract:

Cílem předkládané práce je zjistit, jaký je vliv relevantních dimenzí adaptace na spokojenost účastníků zahraničních pracovních mobilit s jejich pobytem v zahraničí a dosaženými přínosy zahraničních mobilit. V teoretické části práce si kladu tři dílčí cíle. Prvním z nich bylo zadefinovat přínosy zahraničních mobility pro její účastníky. Tento cíl jsem naplnila pomocí analýzy a komparace provedených empirických studií z České republiky i zahraničí. Z uvedených studií vyplynuly čtyři hlavní přínosy mobilit, kterými jsou rozvoj jazykových dovedností, profesních kompetencí, sociálních kompetencí a rozvoj multikulturní osobnosti účastníků. Druhým dílčím cílem bylo objasnit problematiku mezinárodní adaptace, jejich dimenzí a faktorů, které úspěšnost adaptace ovlivňují. Výstupem teoretické části práce, a posledním teoretickým dílčím cílem, bylo vytvoření vlastního teoreticko-empirického modelu, ve kterém jsem identifikovala několik výzkumných předpokladů. Kompatibilitu těchto předpokladů jsem ověřovala v metodologické části práce prostřednictvím kvalitativního výzkumného šetření mezi účastníky mobilit. Empirický výzkum podpořil vliv některých identifikovaných vztahů v teoreticko-empirickém modelu, zatímco některé původní domněnky byly méně relevantní, nebo se neprokázaly. Ke konci práce předkládám doporučení ke zvýšení spokojenosti účastníků mobilit, které vyplývají ze závěrů práce.

Abstract:

The aim of the submitted thesis is to determine the impact of relevant dimensions of adjustment to participants' satisfaction with their stay abroad and benefits achieved by their participation in international work mobility. In the theoretical part of the thesis I set up three partial goals. The first goal was to define benefits of international mobility for its participants. I have fulfilled this objective through analysis and comparison conducted international and Czech empirical studies. Studies resulted in four main benefits of mobility for its participants. Namely the development of language skills, professional competencies, social competencies and development of multicultural personality. The second objective was to clarify the process of international adjustment, its dimensions and factors that influence its success. The outcome of the theoretical part, a final theoretical partial objective, was to create own theoretical-empirical model in which I identified several research assumptions. Compatibility of these assumptions is checked in the methodology part of this thesis through qualitative research among participants of mobility. Empirical research has supported the influence of some relationships identified in the theoretical-empirical model while some of the original assumptions were less relevant or not shown. At the end of the paper I present several recommendations how to increase participants' satisfaction with the work mobilities, which result from conclusion of the thesis.
