Regulation of watercourses as a primary factor affecting the chemism of flood-plain forest soils in the area of inflow of highly mineralization groundwater

Abstract:

Antropogenní zásahy do vodních režimů řek jsou jeden z hlavních faktorů ovlivňující stabilitu a existenci lužních lesů. Bakalářská práce se zabývá měřením půdní vlhkosti v jádrové a okrajové zóně přírodní rezervace Plačkův zasažené přítokem vysoce mineralizovaných vod a referenční lokalitě Bedřichův les bez změněného hydrogeologického režimu. Úroveň vlhkosti půdy byla měřena přístroje Z-metr IV fungujícím na principu odporové metody Electric impedance spektrometry (EIS). Nejnižší Rx, potenciálně nejvyšší vlhkost půdy, byla nalezena v jádrové zóně re-zervace Plačkův les, která vykazuje příznaky zamokření a dochází zde k akumulaci vysoce mineralizovaných podzemních vod; nejvyšší hodnoty Rx, potenciálně nejnižší vlhkost byla nalezena na referenční lokalitě Bedřichův les. Porovnání Rx s obsahem síranů a laboratorně měřenou elektrickou konduktivitou v půdním roztoku (EKP) na jednotlivých lokalitách prokázalo významnou korelaci pouze v případě Rx a EKP v jádrové zóně rezervace. Výsledky naznačují, že kromě vlhkosti půdy, je obsah rozpuštěných solí dalším faktorem ovlivňujícím měření EIS. Obsah rozpustných solí v půdě s Rx koreluje negativně, obsah solí rostl s poklesem Rx. Nicméně, potenciální růst vlhkosti půdy, indikovaný poklesem Rx, nebyl na zájmových lokalitách potvrzen jako hlavní faktor moderující výskytu síranů. Jelikož je vlhkost půdy řízena dotací vysoce mineralizované podzemní vody jsou faktory obsahu solí a vlhkosti vzájemně propojené. Konkrétní míra podílu obsahu solí a vlhkosti půdy na Rx představuje podmět pro další výzkum.

Abstract:

Anthropogenic modifications of water regimes of watercourses are one of the main factors threatening the stability and existence of floodplain forests. This bachelor thesis focuses on the moisture conditions in the core and the edge of nature reserve Plaček forest influenced by the inflow of high mineralization groundwater and confronts to reference location Bedřich forest which has the water regime unchanged. The moisture level of soil was measured by a Z-meter IV device that works on the principle of resistance method Electric impedance spectrometry (EIS). The lowest Rx level, a potential sign of the highest soil mois-ture was found in the core area of nature reserve Plačkův forest, which indicates waterlogging and occurs water accumulation here; the highest Rx level, a potential sign of the lowest soil moisture was found in the reference area Bedřich forest. Comparison Rx with sulfur content and laboratory-measured electric conductivity in soil solution (EKP) on individual sites showed a significant correlation only between Rx and EKP on the core area of the nature reserve. The outcomes suggest that in addition to soil moisture, the content of dissolved salts is another factor influencing the measurement of EIS. Dissolved salts content in the soil does not correlate with Rx. Nevertheless, on sites of interest, a potential increase of soil moisture indicated by Rx decrease was not confirmed as the primary factor moderating the occurrence of sulfates. Because soil moisture is controlled by the supply of highly mineralized groundwater, the factors of salt content and moisture are interconnected. The specific proportion of salt content and soil moisture in Rx is the subject of further research.
