Analysis of the potential and benefits of the Spot Bitcoin ETF

Abstract:

Cílem této bakalářské práce je analyzovat nový investiční nástroj Spot Bitcoin ETF, který byl na začátku roku 2024 přijat americkou Komisí pro cenné papíry, a posoudit příležitosti, které přináší pro investory. V první polovině praktické části budou zkoumány výhody a nevýhody jedenácti přijatých ETF na základě různých kritérií s využitím metody vícekriteriálního srovnání. Druhá polovina praktické části se zaměří na analýzu potenciálu nového nástroje, možnosti jeho dalšího rozvoje a způsoby, jakými mohou investoři využít nový nástroj ve svých investičních strategiích. Součástí analýzy bude také porovnání s dalšími ETF, což umožní zjistit úroveň korelace mezi nimi a lépe pochopit, jak přijetí nového nástroje ovlivní dynamiku ceny bitcoinu nyní a v budoucnu.

Abstract:

The aim of this bachelor's thesis is to analyze the new investment tool, Spot Bitcoin ETF, which was accepted by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission at the beginning of 2024, and to assess the opportunities it offers for investors. In the first half of the practical section, the advantages and disadvantages of eleven accepted ETFs will be examined based on various criteria using a multi-criteria comparison method. The second half of the practical section will focus on analyzing the potential of the new tool, the possibilities for its further development, and the ways in which investors can use the new tool in their investment strategies. The analysis will also include a comparison with other ETFs, which will help determine the level of correlation between them and better understand how the adoption of the new tool will affect the dynamics of Bitcoin's price now and in the future.
