Treasury management and its function in the company management

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce se zabývá tématikou corporate treasury management ve vybraném podnikatelském subjektu. Cílem této práce je analyzovat komplexní problematiku corporate treasury managementu v nadnárodním podniku a nalézt případné nedostatky související s treasury aktivitami včetně návrhů pro zefektivnění těchto systémů. Po teoreticky orientovaných kapitolách, které jsou zaměřené na pojmy spojené s corporate cash a risk managementem, následuje praktická část. V praktické části této diplomové práce je představena nadnárodní společnost, její historie, výrobky a v neposlední řadě charakterizována její finanční pozice. Po té je provedena analýza corporate treasury managementu včetně nastavených procesů. Poslední kapitola navrhuje řešení pro zefektivnění procesů ve vybraném podnikatelském subjektu, a to v oblasti corporate treasury managementu. Jedná se o návrh pro efektivnější realizaci plateb s možností vyšší centralizace, efektivnějšího reportu cash forecast pomocí SAP ERP Finacials systému a lepší řízení finančního rizika díky měnovému forwardu.

Abstract:

This master thesis deals with corporate treasury management in selected company. The aim of this thesis is to analyse the complex issues of corporate treasury management in the multinational company and find some lack in processes related to treasury activities including proposals for improving the effectiveness of these systems. After theoretical focused chapters, the thesis continues with explanation on key terms of corporate cash and risk management. Practical part of this thesis is focused on introducing the multinational company, its history, its products and ultimately its financial position. Following is to analyse the corporate treasury management including implemented processes. Last chapter suggests solutions to make implemented processes in corporate treasury management more efficient within selected company. This include a proposal for more centralised payments, more efficient cash forecast with SAP ERP Financials system and better management of financial risk due to currency forward contract.
