Senior Academy – Way to a Healthier life of a Senior

Abstract:

Magisterská diplomová práce se zabývá problematikou vzdělávání seniorů, konkrétně vzděláváním na Senior akademii ve městě Chotěboř. Hlavním záměrem je poukázat na efekty vzdělávání, které identifikují účastníci tohoto vzdělávacího programu. K dosažení cílů byla využita kvalitativní metoda. Pro sběr dat byl použit hloubkový polostrukturovaný rozhovor. Práce je rozdělena na teoretickou a empirickou část. Teoretická část je dělena na tři hlavní kapitoly. První se nazývá vzděláváním dospělých. Zde je vysvětlen koncept celoživotního učení a vzdělávání. Je zde poukázáno na jeho jednotlivé formy – formální, neformální vzdělávání a informální učení. Stěžejní částí je část zabývající se institucemi vzdělávání dospělých. Druhá hlavní kapitola pojednává o vzdělávání seniorů. Poukazuje na definice stěžejních základních pojmů, potřeby seniorů, historii seniorského vzdělávání, cíle a funkce vzdělávání seniorů, motivace vzdělávat se a konkrétní výčet vzdělávacích aktivit pro seniory. Třetí část se zaměřuje na vzdělávání jako jednu z podpor bezpečnosti seniorů. Tato část zahrnuje popis Senior akademie Chotěboř, senior v roli oběti, nástrahy páchané proti seniorům a strategie, kterými by se měli staří lidé řídit. Empirická část shrnuje výsledky z provedeného výzkumného šetření.

Abstract:

This MA thesis deals with the issues connected with senior learning particularly with the learning conducted at the Senior Academy in the town Chotěboř. The main aim is to show the effects of the learning as identified by the participants of the program. This goal is achieved through the use of a qualitative research method. The data was gathered through a profound and semi-structured interview. The thesis is divided into a theoretical and an empirical part. The theoretical part is then divided into three main chapters. The first one deals with learning of adults. The explanation of the concept of the life-long learning is to be found there. It identifies three forms of the learning: formal and informal learning and informal teaching. The main part is the one dealing with the institutions of learning of adults. The second main chapter addresses learning of senior citizens. It mentions the definitions of the crucial and fundamental terms, the needs of senior citizens, the history of senior learning, the goals and functions of the learning, motivations to learn and the list of the particular senior learning programs. The third part focuses on the learning´s role of the main supports to the safety of senior citizens. This part includes a description of the Senior Academy Chotěboř and deals with topics as a senior as a victim, crimes against seniors and strategies seniors should follow. The empirical part summarizes the results of the conducted survey.
