The scope of tax laws and the business environment in the EU

Abstract:

Problematikou rozsahu daňových předpisů, jejich složitosti a srozumitelnosti či celkovému vlivu zdanění na finanční řízení a budoucí rozhodování podniků je odborníky často diskutováno téma. Hlavním cílem bakalářské práce je analyzovat pomocí regresní analýzy možný vliv rozsahu daňových předpisů na podnikatelské prostředí členských států Evropské unie v roce 2020. Rozsah zákonů o dani z přidané hodnoty a o daních z příjmu vyjadřuji samostatně podle absolutního počtu znaků a počtu paragrafů, kterými právní text disponuje. Podnikatelské prostředí zemí EU definuji na základě hodnocení ukazatelů Doing Business Index a World Competitiveness Index. První část práce se zaměřuje na teoretické vymezení daňové politiky, daňové legislativy, problematiky rozsahu a srozumitelnosti daňových předpisů v kontextu s pojmem podnikatelského prostředí a jeho měření. Další část vysvětluje použitý metodický postup práce a popisuje vstupní data výzkumu. Závěrečná část práce se věnuje výsledkům analýz, které odpovídají zadanému cíli.

Abstract:

The issue of the scope of tax laws, their complexity and comprehensibility, or the overall impact of taxation on the financial management and future decision-making of companies is often discussed by experts. The main goal of the bachelor's thesis is to analyze, using regression analysis, the possible influence of the scope of tax laws on the business environment of the member states of the European Union in 2020. I express the scope of value added tax laws and income tax laws separately according to the absolute number of characters and the number of paragraphs that the legal text has. I define the business environment of EU countries based on indicators of Doing Business Index and World Competitiveness Index. The first part of the work focuses on the theoretical definition of tax policy, tax legislation, issues of scope and comprehensibility of tax laws in the context of term of the business environment and its measurement. The next part explains the methodological procedure used and describes the input data of the research. The final part of the work is devoted to the results of the analyzes that correspond to the specified goal.
