Monitoring of FW / VPN Cisco ASA

Abstract:

Práce se zabývá studiem možností monitorování síťového zařízení Cisco ASA, konkrétně možnostmi jeho monitorování použitím protokolu Simple Network Monitor Protokol (dále jen SNMP). Účel této práce je vytvoření webového aplikace, která bude získávat data ze zařízení Cisco ASA a zpřístupňovat je přes webové rozhraní ve formě grafů. V úvodu práce je popsáno zařízení Cisco ASA a jeho možnosti monitoringu. Dále obsahuje historii vývoje protokolu SNMP a použitých nástrojů pro vývoj webové aplikace. V druhé části obsahuje popis vytvořené monitorovací aplikace. Poslední část práce obsahuje detailní popis MIB tabulek podporovaných zařízením Cisco ASA.

Abstract:

This thesis deals with studying a possibility of monitoring Cisco ASA network device , in particular its monitoring with using the Simple Network Management Protocol (furthermore only SNMP). The purpose of this thesis is a creation of a web application that will be retrieving data from the Cisco ASA and make them accessible through a web interface in form of a graph. The introduction of the thesis describes the Cisco ASA and its monitoring options. It also contains the history and evolution of SNMP and other tools for web application development. The second part contains description of a created monitoring application. The last part of the thesis deals with the MIB tables supported by Cisco ASA device.
