Analysis of a hotel manager's profile

Abstract:

The target of Master´s Dissertation is find out how the manager match the requirements on their profile, whether they have adequate competences for the performance of a manager in the hotel industry and how their career is going. In the theoretical part there is descriping the manager´s role in the organization and specified the manager profile. It is devided to three areas and that is: competence, personality and social. This section also discusses about development of carrer and training while performing management function. Obtained data are interpreting according collected sixty questionnaires. This is evaluated in analytical part of master´s dissertation. The assessment is organized in such a way that it also includes verification of the set hypotheses. The design part is focused mainly on the improvement of education and the focus on development of self management in the manager´s profile. In particular, the shortcomings are identify during the questionnaire survey in particular,. The proposition of this theses is finding and pointing out the real competence in the manager's profile and interest in the development of his / her own manager´s career.

Abstract:

Cieľom diplomovej práce je zistiť, ako manažéri hotelov spĺňajú požiadavky na ich profil, či disponujú zodpovedajúcimi kompetenciami pre výkon funkcie manažéra v obore hotelierstva a ako prebieha ich kariéra. V teoretickej časti je charakterizované pôsobenie manažéra v organizácií a vyšpecifikovaný profil manažéra na základe troch oblastí a to: kompetenčná, osobnostná a sociálna. V tejto časti sa pojednáva aj o priebehu kariéry a vzdelávania počas výkonu manažérskej funkcie. Na základe získaných dát z dotazníkového šetrenia je v analytickej časti vyhodnotených 60 zozbieraných dotazníkov. Hodnotenie je roztriedené tak, aby jeho súčasťou bolo aj overenie stanovených hypotéz. Návrhová časť je zameraná najmä na oblasť zlepšenia vzdelávania a zameranie sa na rozvoj self managementu pri profile manažéra. Zameriava sa najmä na zistené nedostatky počas dotazníkového prieskumu. Prínosom tejto práce je zistenie a poukázanie na reálnu kompetentnosť v profilu manažéra a záujmu o rozvoj vlastnej manažérskej kariéry
