Possibilities of using remote sensing data for the needs of the city of Liberec

Abstract:

Řešená odborná práce se zabývá problematikou využití dat získaných prostřednictvím metod dálkového průzkumu Země (dále DPZ) v prostředí správního obvodu obce s rozšířenou působností Liberec. Nejprve je zpracována rešerše využití dat dálkového průzkumu Země pro agendu města v obecné rovině. Na základě rešerše odborné literatury je zpracován dotazník na téma využití dat DPZ. Vybrané prostorové informační potřeby (vyplívající z dotazníku), které zjistíme metodami DPZ, jsou: mapa povrchové teploty - LST (Landsat 8), vegetační index - NDVI (Sentinel 2, Planet Scope), index obsahu vody na povrchu Země - NDWI, NDWI 2 (Sentinel 2), index výstavby - NDBI (Sentinel 2). Pomocí dat z nosiče DJI Mavic Mini byla pořízena data (ortofotomapy, digitální modely terénu a 3D modely) pro potřeby samosprávy. Všechna získaná data se stala součástí databáze Oddělení UAP a GIS a jsou k dispozici pracovníkům magistrátu města Liberec.

Abstract:

This thesis focuses on the issue of using data obtained through remote sensing methods (hereinafter remote sensing) in the administrative district of the municipality with extended powers of Liberec. The first part of the thesis discusses the question of using Earth remote sensing data for city agendas in general. Then, it presents a questionnaire, created for evaluating the needs of the Liberec municipality. This questionnaire, focusing on the use of remote sensing data, was created on the basis of a review of relevant literature. Based on the results of the questionnaire, the following spatial information needs were chosen to be addressed by the thesis: land surface temperature map - LST (Landsat 8), vegetation index - NDVI (Sentinel 2, Planet Scope), normalized difference water index - NDWI, NDWI 2 (Sentinel 2), normalized difference built-up index - NDBI (Sentinel 2). Using data from the DJI Mavic Mini carrier, key information (orthophoto maps, digital terrain models and 3D models) was acquired for the needs of the Liberec self-government. All data obtained during the creation of this thesis have become part of the database of the Urban Planning and GIS Department and are available to employees of the City of Liberec.
