Evidence of anthropogenic activities on the territory of Hradec Kralove forests from the perspective of archeology

Abstract:

Tato práce má za cíl přispět k současnému stavu poznání o antropogenních aktivitách a exploataci královéhradeckých lesů ve středověku a novověku. V práci byly využívány nejen písemné a hmotné doklady, ale zároveň byly poprvé na území královéhradeckých lesů využity i tzv. LiDARová data, která umožnila snazší dohledání antropogenních terénních reliktů. Vybrané lokality byly podrobeny terénnímu průzkumu, který si kladl za cíl ověřit zjištěné relikty na lidarových snímcích, zjistit jejich rozsah a případně je i datovat. Všechny pozůstatky antropogenních aktivit v královéhradeckých lesích byly následně konfrontovány nejen s písemnými prameny, ale hlavně s kartografickými prameny společně s historickými leteckými snímky. Práce obsahuje rovněž statě o využití LiDARových dat pro potřeby archeologie v České republice, srovnání s dalšímiarcheologickými výzkumy využívající lidarová data, a také srovnání oblasti královéhradeckých lesů s obdobnými regiony na našem území. Výsledkem práce jsou zdokumentované antropogenní relikty zachycené pomocí leteckého laserového skenování, které jsou popsané a zhodnocené v katalogu a zakreslené v mapách.

Abstract:

The aim of this thesis is to contribute to the present knowledge about anthropogenic activities and the utilisation of the forests in Hradec Kralove region in Medieval and Postmedieval Period. In my thesis I have used not only written and physical evidence, but I have also used so called Lidar data (for the first time in the Hradec Kralove forest region), which enabled easier tracking of the relics. The chosen localities were field researched. The aim of the field research was to verify the relics obtained from lidar data, to find out their mass and if possible, date them. All of the findings of anthropogenic activities in Hradec Kralove forests were compared not only with written sources but also mainly with cartographic sources and historical aerial pictures. The thesis also contains articles about the use of lidar data for archeological purposes in the Czech Republic, a comparison with other archeological researches where lidar data wasused and also a comparison of localities in Hradec Kralove forests with similar locations in the Czech Republic.
