Siblings of a children with severe intellectual disabilities

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá problematikou sourozenců dětí s těžkým mentálním postižením. Cílem práce je přiblížit specifickou životní situaci, kterou je soužití s členem rodiny s těžkým mentálním postižením a zmapovat náhled sourozenců bez postižení na svůj život a na svého sourozence s postižením. Práce je rozdělena na část teoretickou a na část praktickou. Teoretická část se zabývá základními východisky dané problematiky a při jejím zpracování bylo ve velké míře čerpáno ze zahraniční literatury. Zároveň jsou zde uvedeny příklady podpory sourozenců z České republiky a Polska. Praktická část práce je zaměřena na kvalitativní výzkum mezi sourozenci dětí s těžkým mentálním postižením. Výzkumné šetření mapuje několik oblastí života sourozenců. Z výsledků výzkumného šetření je patrné, že přítomnost dítěte s těžkým mentálním postižením ovlivňuje i jeho sourozence.

Abstract:

Diploma thesis is dealing with topic of siblings of children with severe intellectual disabilities. The goal of the thesis is to describe specific life situation – living with family member with severe intellectual disability and to describe healthy siblings’ point of view on their life and their sibling with intellectual disability.The thesis is divided into theoretical and practical part. Theoretical part deals with basis of the theme. The main source for the theoretical part is literature review mainly of the foreign literature as well as there are mentioned examples of the support of the siblings in Czech Republic and Poland. Practical part is focused on the qualitative research among siblings of children with severe intellectual disabilities. The research is dealing with several areas of the siblings’ life. The results of the research are indicating that the presence of the kid with several intellectual disability is affecting even its health siblings.
