This thesis analyses the character of friar Laurence from Shakespeare’s play Romeo and Juliet. It studies different critical approaches to friar Laurence with the reference to Aristotelian or Freytag’s structure of the play and especially to the location of the point of the “change of fortune” (or the turning point).
