Information literacy training with a focus on e-resources implemented at selected faculties of the Silesian University in Opava

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zaměřuje na výuku informační gramotnosti s důrazem na elektronické informační zdroje na Slezské univerzitě v Opavě. Teoretická část se zabývá informační gramotností a jejími kompetencemi, infomačním přetížením, informační vzděláváním a funkční gramotností. Dále jsou rozebrány elektronické informační zdroje, jejich charakteristika, vyhledávání informací, subjekty v procesu vyhledávání informací, obecná didaktika a lekce v Univerzitní knihovně SU. V neposlední řadě se zabývá dostupnými elektronickými informačními zdroji, jejich akvizicí a zpřístupněním na SU v Opavě a popisem e-learningu a e-learningové podpory Web of Science a EBSCO. Praktická část se zaměřuje na samotnou výzkumnou sondu realizovanou prostřednictvím dotazníkového šetření a rozhovoru. Hlavním cílem výzkumné sondy je zjistit, jaký je stav využívanosti zdrojů na vybraných fakultách a samostatných akademických opavských součástech Slezské univerzity v Opavě.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis focuses on the teaching of information literacy with emphasis on electronic information resources at the Silesian University in Opava. The theoretical part deals with information literacy and its competences, information overload, information education and functional literacy. Furthermore, electronic information resources, their characteristics, information retrieval, subjects in the process of information retrieval, general didactics and lessons in the SU University Library are discussed. Lastly, it deals with available electronic information resources, their acquisition and accessibility at SU in Opava and a description of e-learning and e-learning support of Web of Science and EBSCO. The practical part focuses on the actual research probe conducted through a questionnaire survey and an interview. The main objective of the research probe is to find out the state of resource usage at selected faculties and independent academic units of the Silesian University in Opava.
