The position and functioning of a non-profit organization – case study

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá neziskovými organizacemi v oblasti životního prostředí. Neziskové organizace mají v českých zemích dosti dlouhou tradici. Jejich začátek sahá až do 19. století. Cílem této práce je tyto organizace zmapovat, prozkoumat a analyzovat jejich postavení a fungování za předpokladu využití komparace, dedukce a analyticko-syntetické metody. Práce se skládá z teoretických kapitol, v kterých se zabývám základní charakteristikou neziskového sektoru, životního prostředí a členěním neziskových organizací. V druhé části se zabývám konkrétně státními a nestátními neziskovými organizacemi a jejich možnostmi v problematice financování. V další části jsou popsány zástupci neziskového sektoru z oblasti životního prostředí, státní podnik Povodí Ohře a spolek Greenpeace Česká republika, doplněny o vlastní poznatky a informace získané z poskytnutých dokumentů. Závěrem práce je stanovení rolí u státních a nestátních neziskových organizací.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis deals with non-profit organizations in the field of the environment. Non-profit organizations have a fairly long tradition in the Czech lands. Their beginning dates back to the 19th century. The aim of this work is to map, explore and analyze their position and functioning, assuming the use of comparison, deduction and analytical-synthetic methods. The work consists of theoretical chapters in which I deal with the basic characteristics of the non-profit sector, the environment and the division of non-profit organizations. In the second part I deal specifically with state and non-state non-profit organizations and their possibilities in the issue of financing. The next section describes the representatives of the non-profit sector in the field of the environment, the state enterprise Povodí Ohře and the association Greenpeace Czech Republic, supplemented by their own knowledge and information obtained from the provided documents. The conclusion of the work is the determination of roles in state and non-state non-profit organizations.
