Theme of the Trick in the Roman de Renart and the Works it Inspired

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce s názvem „Motiv klamu v Románu o Lišákovi a v dílech jím inspirovaných“ má za úkol seznámit dnešního čtenáře se společenskou kritikou ve středověku, zobrazenou zejména v Románu o Lišákovi. První část této práce je zaměřena na teorii klamu a lţi, s ohledem zejména na Aurelia Augustina a Platóna. Druhá část vymezuje Román o Lišákovi od literární tvorby vznikající na stejném území ve stejné době. V posledním oddíle si představíme moţnou inspiraci pozdějších autorů. Také vykreslíme konkrétní případy Lišákových úskoků a přehnanou důvěřivost ostatních postav.

Abstract:

achelor thesis entitled „Theme of the trick in the Roman de Renart and the works it inspired“ has the task to introduce briefly about the public criticism in the Middle Ages, displayed especially in Roman de Renart. First part of this thesis focuses on the theory of deception and lies, with regard to St Augustine and Plato. Second part defines Roman de Renart from other works of that time. In the last section we will introduce a possible inspiration of later authors. Also dealing with particular cases of Renart’s tricks and excessive credulity of other creatures.
