Corporate Governance in NPOs

Abstract:

Diplomová práce „Corporate Governance v neziskových organizacích“ se zabývá problematikou řízení a správy v neziskových organizacích. Cílem práce je prozkoumat corporate governance ve vybraných nadacích v ČR a zjistit, zda jejich řízení odpovídá některé z teorií corporate governance pro ziskový sektor. Metodický postup práce je založený na kvalitativním přístupu, data pro případové studie byla sbírána primárně pomocí polostrukturovaných rozhovorů. Zjištěné poznatky byly vyhodnoceny ve vztahu k teoriím corporate governance v ziskovém sektoru. Empirická část práce ukázala, že řízení vybraných nadací nelze zařadit pod jednu teorii corporate governance v ziskovém sektoru, ale že jejich model řízení čerpá z více teorií, a to z teorie zastupitelnosti, teorie správcovství a v omezené míře z teorie zdrojové závislosti.

Abstract:

Diploma thesis „Corporate Governance in NPOs“ deals with the issue of corporate governance in non-profit organizations. The aim of the thesis is to examine corporate governance in selected foundations in the Czech Republic and to find out whether their governance corresponds with one of the theories of corporate governance for the profit sector. The methodological approach is based on a qualitative method, data for case studies were collected primarily through semi-structured interviews. The findings were evaluated in relation to corporate governance theories in the profit sector. The empirical part of the thesis showed that the governance of selected foundations cannot be classified under one theory of corporate governance in the profit sector, but that their governance model draws from more theories, namely agency theory, stewardship theory and to a limited extent, resource dependence theory.
