The attitude of social workers and parents of children to the advantages and negative sides of computer games in the life of preschool age children

Abstract:

Cílem diplomové práce je zjistit, jaký postoj zaujímají sociální pracovníci a rodiče dětí k výhodám a negativům častého hraní počítačových her u dětí předškolního věku. V práci popisuji, jaký způsobem rodiče a sociální pracovníci vnímají a prožívají výhody a negativa počítačových her a jakým způsobem jich využívají. Práce je rozdělena na tři části. V teoretické časti se zaměřuji na popis důležitých pojmů. Definuji pojem počítačová hra a závislost na počítačových hrách. Věnuji se popisu dětí předškolního věku z hlediska vývojové psychologie. V poslední části sa zařuji na postoj a jeho tři složky – kognitivní, emotivní, konativní. Metodologická část výzkumu popisuje použité techniky při sběru analýze dat a operacionalizaci výzkumné otázky. Třetí část se věnuje interpretaci získaných dat a odpovědi na hlavní výzkumnou otázku Jaký postoj zaujímají sociální pracovníci a rodiče dětí k výhodám a negativům počítačových her v životě dětí předškolního věku? Ve studii bylo zjištěno, že rodiče i sociální pracovníci znají výhody i negativa, která hraní počítačových her přináší dětem předškolního věku. Využívají počítačové hry k rozvoji nejrůznějších dovedností a schopností dětí, ale jsou si vědomi i toho, že časté hraní může mít negativní vliv na zdravotní stav dítěte a není prospěšné ani pro navazování mezilidských vztahů a jeho chování mezi vrstevníky.

Abstract:

The thesis aim is to discover the attitude of social workers and parents of children to the advantages and negative sides of frequent playing computer games of preschool age children. In this thesis I describe how parents and social workers perceive and experience advantages and negative sides of computer games and how they use them. The thesis is divided into three parts. The theoretical part focuses on the description of important terms. I define the term computer game and addiction to computer games. I pay attention on description of preschool age children from the view of developmental psychology. In the last part I focuse on the attitude and his three components - cognitive, emotional, conative. The methodological part of research describes techniques used to collecting and analyzing data and operationalization of research question. The third part deals with interpretation of gained data and answer the main research question What attitude take social workers and parents of children to the advantages and negative sides of computer games in the life of preschool age children? In the study was found that parents and social workers know the benefits and negatives that playing of computer games brings to children of preschool age. They use computer games to develop a variety of skills and abilities of children, but they are also aware of the fact that frequent playing may negatively affect the child's health condition and is not beneficial either for establishing interpersonal relationships and behavior among its peers.
