Consumer behavior in the current hospitality

Abstract:

The master´s dissertation focuses on consumer behavior in the hotel industry. Dissertation is mainly focused on the Y generation segment (20-35 years). The primary aim of the work is based on the obtained information about the preferences of the Y generation, to suggest options that could be introduced in accommodation facilities to maintain or gain the clientele of this age category. The partial aim of the thesis focuses on the consumer behavior of generation Y in relation to travel during 2020.The key part of the thesis is analysis of the results of the questionnaire surway and interviews. Based on the information obtained, we subsequently proposed recommendations that accommodation service providers could follow when targeting the Generation Y segment. The conclusion of the thesis is a summary of these proposals and recommendations. The final component describes the preferences and approaches of the Generation Y in the choice of accommodation and also the attitudes of young people to travel in relations with the Covid-19 pandemic.

Abstract:

Táto diplomová práca sa zaoberá spotrebiteľským správaním v hotelierstve. Práca je zameraná predovšetkým na segment generácie Y (20-35 rokov). Primárnym cieľom práce je na základe získaných informácií o preferenciách generácie Y, navrhnúť možnosti, ktoré by mohli byť v ubytovacích zariadeniach zavedené pre udržanie poprípade získanie si práve klientely tejto vekovej kategórie. Čiastkový cieľ práce sa orientuje na spotrebiteľské správanie generácie Y v súvislosti s cestovaním počas roku 2020. Podstatnú časť tvorí analýza výsledkov z dotazníkového šetrenia a štruktúrované rozhovory. Na základe získaných informácií sme následne navrhli odporučenia, ktorými by sa poskytovatelia ubytovacích služieb mohli riadiť pri cielení na segment generácie Y. Záver práce tvorí zhrnutie týchto návrhov a odporúčaní. Poslednou zložkou sú popísané preferencie a prístupy generácie Y pri výbere ubytovacieho zariadenia a taktiež postoje mladých ľudí k cestovaniu v súvislosti s pandémiou Covid-19.
