In this thesis I deal with the critique of Lynn White´s essay entitled Historical Roots of Our Ecological Crisis and its impact on development of Christian ecological theology and ethics in Catholicism and Protestantism. V predkladanej práci sa zaoberám kritikou eseje Lynna Whitea Historické korene našej ekologickej krízy a jej vplyvom na vývoj krestanskej ekologickej teológie a etiky vrámci katolicizmu a protestantizmu. Pokúšam sa urcit mieru vplyvu L. Whitea na katolícke ucenie prezentované v pápežských encyklikách Jána Pavla II. a Benedikta XVI.
