Reconstructed family through the eyes of university students.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis is devoted to the study of the reconstructed family through the eyes of university students living in it. From my point of view, reconstructed family based not on marital but partner commitment serves as the alternative form of the marriage. The theoretical part of the work aims to present the study of reconstructed family as it is. It provides the definition of the term “family”. Functions of the family and family types are also presented and described. Moreover, the recent changes in family structures are mentioned. Due to the fact that in my opinion, the reconstructed family is not legitimated by marriage, this work also deals with the changes of demographic behaviour in the current understanding of family life. This undoubtedly helped to develop my own understanding of the reconstructed family. In addition, various opinions on how the family can be reconstructed are later presented. The empirical part describes the very living in the reconstructed family. This description is based on accounts of university students. What I strive to do in my diploma thesis is to find out to what precisely university students attribute the development of the reconstructed family. Owing to the fact that the students experienced the period when their parents were getting divorce and started to live in the new, reconstructed family, the aim of my examination was to discover whether it influenced them.

Diplomová práca sa venuje téme rekonštruovanej rodiny z pohľadu vysokoškolákov, ktorí v nej žijú. Rekonštruovanú rodinu v zmysle nezosobášeného spolužitia vnímam ako alternatívnu formu manželstva, ktorej základom nie je manželský, ale partnerský zväzok. Teoretická časť práce si kladie za cieľ uviesť čitateľa do problematiky rekonštruovanej rodiny. Pojednáva o definíciách pojmu rodina, funkciách rodiny, rôznych typoch rodiny ako aj súčasných zmenách týkajúcich sa modelu rodiny. Vzhľadom k tomu, že rekonštruovaná rodina v mojom ponímaní nie je legitimovaná manželstvom, pojednám takisto o zmenách demografického správania vo vzťahu k rodinnému životu, ktoré ma viedli k vlastnému pohľadu na rekonštruovanú rodinu. Ďalej ponúkam rôzne pohľady na rekonštrukciu rodiny ako aj na nezosobášené spolužitie. Cieľom empirickej časti je zachytiť spolužitie v rekonštruovanej rodine v kontexte vzájomných vzťahov medzi členmi danej rodiny, a to na základe výpovedí vysokoškolákov. Zameriam sa hlavne na základe akých skutočností vysokoškoláci popisujú proces vzniku ich rekonštruovanej rodiny. Vzhľadom k tomu, že vysokoškoláci prešli rozvodom a žijú v rekonštruovanej rodine, bolo mojím zámerom zistiť, či ich ovplyvnili tieto dve skutočnosti.
