The needs of children and parents in pediatric palliative care: a scoping review

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá potřebami dětí a rodičů v paliativní péči. Teoretická část se zaměřuje na popis dětské paliativní péče a její potřebnost. Dále je v kapitolách shrnut rozvoj a historie dětské paliativní péče, formy poskytování péče, koncepce péče a standardy potřeb v péči. Poslední kapitola je věnována potřebám dětí a rodičů. Průzkumná část je psaná formou scoping review, kde byly vyhledávány a popisovány studie, jenž se zabývají potřebami rodičů a dětí v paliativní péči. Z nalezených studí vyplývá, že děti vyžadují největší potřeby ve zvládání symptomů, zejména bolesti; potřebují přístup ke vzdělání a kontakt s vrstevníky. Rodiče vykazovali největší potřeby v psychické podpoře, informačních potřebách o nemoci, času pro sebe, praktické pomoci v domácnostech a finanční podporu.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis deals with the needs of children and parents in palliative care. The theoretical part focuses on the description of children's palliative care and its needs. The chapters also summarize the development and history of children's palliative care, forms of care provision, care concepts and standards of care needs. The last chapter is devoted to the needs of children and parents. The research part is written in the form of a scoping review, where studies dealing with the needs of parents and children in palliative care were searched for and described. From the studies found, children require the greatest needs in managing symptoms, especially pain; they need access to education and contact with peers. Parents showed the greatest need for psychological support, informational needs about the disease, time for yourself, practical help in households and financial support.
