Implementation of international standards in the organization and management of swimming competitions in the domestic environment

Abstract:

Tato studie se zaměřuje na implementaci mezinárodních standardů pro organizaci a řízení plaveckých soutěží v domácím prostředí. Cílem bylo analyzovat, jak se mezinárodní regulace a pravidla aplikují na národní plavecké soutěže a identifikovat klíčové faktory úspěchu a výzvy spojené s jejich adaptací. Výzkum byl proveden prostřednictvím kvalitativní analýzy dat získaných z rozhovorů s organizátory soutěží, trenéry a sportovními regulátory, stejně jako prostřednictvím kvantitativního hodnocení úspěšnosti implementace těchto standardů v rámci posledních pěti let. Studie odhalila, že přestože existují určité úspěchy, jako je zvýšení bezpečnostních standardů a kvality soutěží, výzvy jako je financování, školení personálu a lokalizační adaptace standardů stále přetrvávají. Na základě těchto zjištění jsou navrhována doporučení pro zlepšení implementace mezinárodních standardů, která zahrnují lepší školení, zvýšenou finanční podporu a tvorbu adaptabilních pravidel, která reflektují specifika domácího prostředí. Tato studie poskytuje cenný přehled pro organizátory sportovních událostí, regulátory a policy makery zainteresované v organizaci plaveckých soutěží na národní úrovni.

Abstract:

This study focuses on the implementation of international standards in the organization and management of swimming competitions in a domestic environment. The objective was to analyze how international regulations and rules are applied to national swimming competitions and to identify key factors for success and challenges associated with their adaptation. The research was conducted through a qualitative analysis of data obtained from interviews with competition organizers, coaches, and sports regulators, as well as through a quantitative evaluation of the success of these standards over the last five years. The study revealed that although there are certain successes, such as increased safety standards and competition quality, challenges such as funding, staff training, and the localization of standards adaptation continue to persist. Based on these findings, recommendations are proposed for improving the implementation of international standards, including better training, increased financial support, and the creation of adaptable rules that reflect the specifics of the domestic environment. This study provides valuable insights for event organizers, regulators, and policymakers involved in the organization of swimming competitions at the national level.
