Scotland and the Roman Empire
Abstract:
Práce se na základě písemných a archeologických pramenů zabývá dějinami římské přítomnosti a interakcí mezi Římany a domorodým obyvatelstvem na území severního i jižního Skotska. Hlavní důraz je kladen na římské pokusy o dobytí a začlenění severobritských kmenů do říše a důsledky této politiky.
Abstract:
The subject of this thesis is to present and discuss a history of the Roman presence and its interaction with the indigenous population of southern as well as northern Scotland based on archaeological and historical evidence. The main emphasis is put on the Roman attempts to conquering and incorporation of the northern tribes into the Roman empire and consequences of this policy.
