Political-geographical analysis of the conflict between Hutu and Tutsi tribes in Rwanda with a focus on the actual situation

Abstract:

Práce se zabývá politicko-geografickým a historickým rozborem konfliktu mezi dvěma hlavními kmeny ve Rwandě Hutu a Tutsi, který proběhl v roce 1994, a následným výzkumem současné situace ve Rwandě. Výzkum se týká především toho, jak lidé vnímají konflikt v dnešní době, a sleduje především současnou sociálně-ekonomickou situaci v zemi. Výzkum je rozdělen do provincií dle administrativního členění země a zkoumá jak situaci v rurálních, tak městských oblastech země. Dále se výzkum zabývá současnou politickou situací v zemi a její zahraniční politikou.

Abstract:

The thesis deals with the political-geographical and historical breakdown of the conflict between the two main tribes in Rwanda, Hutu and Tutsi, which took place in 1994 and then with the subsequent research of the current situation in Rwanda. In particular, research focuses on how people perceive the conflict today and in particular looks at the current social-economical situation in the country. Research is divided into provinces according to the administrative divisions of the country and examines the situation in rural and urban areas of the country. Furthermore, the research deals with the current political situation in the country and its foreign policy.
