Employee benefits and their perception by employees of a psychiatric hospital

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá vnímáním zaměstnaneckých výhod v Psychiatrické nemocnici Havlíčkův Brod. Cílem je zmapovat, jak zaměstnanci a management psychiatrické nemocnice vnímají benefity v kontextu Herzbergovy dvoufaktorové teorie motivace. Teoretická část práce poskytuje komplexní přehled o významu a roli zaměstnaneckých benefitů, zejména s ohledem na jejich dopad na fluktuaci zaměstnanců. Empirická část analyzuje fluktuaci a poskytované benefity. Dále práce hodnotí výsledky kvantitativního výzkumu, který byl proveden formou dotazníkového šetření. K vyhodnocení dat je použita metoda chí-kvadrát test a Fisherův kombinatorický test. Výzkum poukazuje na zjištění, že míra fluktuace v nemocnici mezi lety 2018 až 2022 je relativně stabilní, průměrně 6 %. Další zjištění odhalují rozdílné perspektivy vedoucích a řadových zaměstnanců ohledně toho, co považují za motivující a co za hygienické faktory a zdůrazňují, že postoj k finančním benefitům se liší v závislosti na věkové skupině zaměstnanců. Závěr práce nabízí možné směry dalšího výzkumu.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis examines the perception of employee benefits at the Havlíčkův Brod Psychiatric Hospital. The objective is to explore how both employees and management of the psychiatric hospital perceive benefits within the framework of Herzberg's two-factor theory of motivation. The theoretical part of the thesis provides a comprehensive overview of the significance and role of employee benefits, particularly in terms of their impact on employee turnover. The empirical section analyzes both turnover and the benefits offered. Additionally, the thesis assesses the outcomes of quantitative research conducted through a questionnaire survey. The chi-square test and Fisher's combinatorial test are employed to evaluate the data. The research highlights that the hospital's turnover rate between 2018 and 2022 has been relatively stable, averaging around 6%. Other findings reveal different perspectives of managers and ordinary employees regarding what they consider motivating and hygienic factors and highlight that attitudes toward financial benefits differ depending on the age group of employees. The conclusion of the thesis proposes potential directions for further research
