Valencian language in the field of education

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zaměřuje na situaci valencijského jazyka ve vzdělávání v oblasti Valencie Za tímto účelem začínáme krátkým popisem historie jazyka, abychom porozuměli jeho původu a vývoji. Poté se analyzuje dvojjazyčnost přítomná ve Valencii a užívání valencijského jazyka na univerzitě mezi studenty. Hlavní část práce spočívá v porovnání dat získaných od studentů a starší generace, kde cílem je pozorovat, jak se užívání jazyka vyvíjelo v průběhu času. Data byla shromážděna prostřednictvím online dotazníku a rozhovorů. Výzkumné otázky jsou rozděleny do tří kategorií: identita, kompetence a subjektivní názory.

Abstract:

In this final project, the situation of the Valencian language in education in Valencia is examined. To this end, we begin with a brief historical description of the language to understand its origin and evolution. Then we analyze the bilingualism present in Valencia and delve into the use of Valencian among university students. The main part of the work consists of comparing the data obtained from students with the older generation, in order to observe how language use has evolved over time. Data was collected through an online questionnaire and interviews. The research questions are divided into three categories: identity, competences, and subjective opinions.
