Cinemafication in Czechoslovakia 1926-1932. A Case Study about a Village of Svatobořice

Abstract:

Má bakalářská práce sleduje proces udílení kinolicence v obci Svatobořice mezi léty 1926–1932. O licenci usilovaly ve vleklém sporu místní spolky Orel a Sokol na pozadí rozsáhlé státní korupční aféry přerozdělování pozemků Státním pozemkovým úřadem. Ve studii se pokouším za pomocí archivních dokumentů zrekonstruovat události z pohledu Sokola i Orla pro co možná nejobjektivnější náhled na konflikt.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis focuses on the process of granting cinema license in the village of Svatobořice – Mistřín in the time period from 1926 to 1932. The cinema license was the object of a lengthy dispute between the Orel and the Sokol organisations in the background of an extensive corruption case of the redistribution of lands by the State Land Office. In this thesis I use the archive documents with the endeavour to reconstruct the events from the points of view of the said organisations in order to gain as objective insight as possible.
