Life in a special regime area (Risk perception in the Temelín Nuclear Power Plant Emergency Planning Zone)

Abstract:

Rizika jsou běžnou součástí života lidí. Jsou určitým hnacím motorem vývoje člověka. Je důležité naučit děti překonávat rizika a naučit je s nimi žít. Kromě běžných rizik se objevují ve stále větší míře také rizika celospolečenská a globální, která pramení především z nových technologií. Lze se naučit s těmito riziky žít? Lze se jim přizpůsobit? Děti jsou v tomto ohledu adaptabilnější a vstřícnější. Současně jsou i podstatně lépe informovaní, než byli jejich rodiče. Úkolem diplomové práce je zjistit, zda žáci 2. stupně základní školy vnímají riziko plynoucí z provozu Jaderné elektrárny Temelín a co jejich vnímání ovlivňuje. Za tímto účelem byl školákům ve věku 12-15 let, žijícím v zóně havarijního plánování Jaderné elektrárny Temelín rozdán k vyplnění dotazník s otázkami na téma Jaderné elektrárny Temelín. Pro srovnání byl dán tentýž dotazník žákům třeboňských škol. Srovnávány byly tedy názory žáků, kteří mají Jadernou elektrárnu Temelín na očích prakticky denně a žáků, kteří mají v podstatě pouze teoretické znalosti a z elektrárny vidí pouze páru, a to jenom za opravdu pěkného počasí. Na základě výzkumu lze konstatovat, že žáci žijící v zóně havarijního plánování jaderné elektrárny Temelín vnímají tuto elektrárnu spíše pozitivně a toto vnímání ovlivňuje faktor znalosti a dovednosti získané především ve školní výuce a díky masmédiím a marketingu provozovatele elektrárny, dalším faktorem je myšlení a faktor osobní zkušenost, a hlavně pohlaví žáků, kdy především děvčata mají mnohem větší obavy o zdraví své a svých blízkých, chlapce zajímá spíše technická stránka věci. Naopak faktor motivace se neukázal příliš významným a stejně tak ani znalosti získané v rodinném prostředí. Třeboňští žáci mají k provozu Jaderné elektrárny Temelín více výhrad, cítí se být více ohrožení než první skupina. Pramení to bezesporu také z menšího množství informací, navíc spíše pouze jednostranných (pouze ze školní výuky). Vnímání této skupiny žáků ovlivňují stejné faktory, jenom faktor znalostí získaných z masmédií a marketingu má podstatně menší zastoupení.

Abstract:

Risks are a common part of people's lives. They are a certain driver of human development. It is important to teach children to overcome risks and to teach them to live with them. In addition to common risks, there are increasingly also societal and global risks, which stem mainly from new technologies. Is it possible to learn to live with these risks? Can they adapt? Children are more adaptable and responsive in this respect. At the same time, they are much better informed than their parents. The aim of this thesis is to find out whether the pupils of the 2nd grade of elementary school perceive the risk arising from the operation of the Temelín Nuclear Power Plant and what influences their perception. For this purpose, a questionnaire with questions on the Temelín Nuclear Power Plant was given to schoolchildren aged 12-15 living in the emergency planning zone of the Temelín Nuclear Power Plant. For comparison, the same questionnaire was given to pupils of Třeboň schools. Thus, the opinions of pupils who have the Temelín Nuclear Power Station in their eyes practically daily and pupils who have only theoretical knowledge and only see steam from the plant, and only in really nice weather, were compared. Based on the research, pupils living in the emergency planning zone of the Temelín Nuclear Power Plant perceive this plant rather positively and this perception is influenced by the knowledge and skills factor acquired mainly in school education and thanks to the mass media and marketing operator. , and especially the sex of the pupils, especially when girls are much more concerned about the health of their and their loved ones, the boy is more interested in the technical side of things. On the contrary, the motivation factor did not prove to be very significant, nor did the knowledge gained in the family environment. Třeboň pupils have more reservations about the operation of the Temelín Nuclear Power Plant, they feel more threatened than the first group. This is undoubtedly also due to the smaller amount of information, moreover only to one-sided (only from school lessons). The perception of this group of pupils is influenced by the same factors, only the factor of knowledge gained from the mass media and marketing is significantly less represented.
