Applying the Concept of the Basal Stimulation by Adult Person with Severe Disability

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá využitím konceptu Bazální stimulace u dospělého jedince s těžkým postižením během jeho pobytu ve vybraném denním stacionáři. V první kapitole je vymezen pojem těžké postižení a příčiny jeho vzniku. Jsou zde popsány potřeby člověka s těžkým postižením a jeho období dospělosti. Druhá kapitola se věnuje přístupu společnosti k osobám s postižení a podpoře, která jim je poskytovaná v oblasti vzdělávání a sociálních služeb. Třetí kapitola pojednává o konceptu Bazální stimulace včetně jeho historie a teoretických východisek. Čtvrtá kapitola představuje samotný výzkum. Výzkum je zpracován formou případové studie. Jsou zde předloženy výsledky dlouhodobého šetření, které probíhalo v období let 2006–2014. Z výzkumného šetření vyplývá, že koncept Bazální stimulace měl pozitivní vliv na zdravotní stav vybraného jedince, umožnil mu zažít nové zkušenosti a přispěl ke kvalitnějšímu prožívání dne ve stacionáři.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis deals with the application of the concept of basal stimulation of an adult person with severe disability during his stay at a selected day care centre. The first chapter defines the term a severe disability and examines causes of its origin. The chapter further describes needs of a severely disabled person and his adulthood. The second chapter deals with the attitude of the society towards severely disabled persons and educational and social services provided to them. The third chapter describes the concept of basal stimulation, its history and theoretical basis. The fourth chapter is dedicated to research. The research part is done in a form of a case study. It contains results of a long-time examination done between years 2006 and 2014. The research results show, that the concept of basal stimulation had positive effect on the state of health of a given individual, it allowed him to experience new things and contributed to a better quality of life in a day care centre.
