The Grazer-Pilsner didactic days as a place of an intercultural meeting

Abstract:

This undergraduate thesis deals with a cooperative project of the University of West Bohemia, the University College of Teacher Education Styria, and the University of Graz. In the thesis, I define terminology crucial for the topic, such as interculturality, transculturality, cliché, prejudices, and stereotypes. Furthermore, I introduce the project days, as well as methods used for collecting data used to answer the research questions. The objective of the thesis is to find out how these project days change the attitude of the students towards the host country and host city, in particular, the attitude of Austrian students to the Czech Republic and to Pilsen and of Czech students to Austria and to Graz. Subsequently, the thesis points out the influence that the project days have, how they enrich the participants and show them certain aspects of education from various points of view as well as various approaches to education. Graz-Pilsen didactic days positively contributed to the professional as well as to the personal life of the participants. Students gained knowledge about intercultural education as well as a variety of approaches to teaching German as a foreign or second language. Simultaneously, the project days helped the Czech students in terms of improving the German language. On a personal level, the project days brought the students valuable experiences and also friendships, which were built between students from the Czech Republic and Austria.

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá projekty, které se uskutečňují mezi Západočeskou univerzitou v Plzni, Štýrskou Pedagogickou vysokou školou a Univerzitou Karla-Franze Graz. V této práci jsou vysvětleny základní pojmy, které se vztahují k tomuto tématu. Dále jsou zde představeny samotné projektové dny a také výzkumná metoda, která byla využita pro získání odpovědí na výzkumné otázky. Cílem této práce bylo dokázat, jakým způsobem mohou tyto Projektové dny změnit přístup studentů k hostitelské zemi a hostitelskému městu. V případě Rakušanů k České republice a Plzni a v případě Čechů k Rakousku a Grazu. Dále jsem chtěla poukázat na to, jakým způsobem mohou tyto projektové dny ovlivnit a obohatit jejich účastníky a také jim ukázat některé aspekty vzdělávání z různých úhlů pohledů a různé přístupy k nim. Grazko-Plzeňské didaktické dny obohatili účastnící se studenty nejen po odborné, ale i po osobní stránce. Studenti se dozvěděli mnohé z oblasti interkulturní výuky a také se dozvěděli více o různých přístupech v oblasti výuky německého jazyka jako jazyka cizího a jazyka druhého. Zároveň byly tyto projektové dny pro české účastníky také přínosem pro zlepšení se v tomto cizím jazyce. Po osobní stránce tyto projektové dny studenty obohatily spoustu cennými zkušenostmi a také mnohými dobrými přátelstvími, která mezi Studenty z Rakouska a České Republiky během tohoto projektu vznikla.
