The topic of diploma thesis is to describe and to analyse mythological creatures from the novels of British author J. K. Rowling. The thesis is divided into theoretical and practical part. Tématem diplomové práce je popis a analýza mytologických bytostí v románech britské spisovatelky J. K. Rowling. Práce je rozdělena na teoretickou a praktickou část. Teoretická část se zabývá původem, významem a vnímáním mytologie v historii a v současnosti. Praktická část je rozdělena na čtyři kapitoly a další podkapitoly.
