Anotace:

Doctoral thesis "Strategies of Multinational and Domestic Companies in the Czech Republic" deals with the strategies of multinational and domestic companies in the Czech Republic. It particularly focuses on the strategy-environment relationship and performance implications. The main objective of this thesis is to survey and compare the strategies used by multinational and domestic companies in the Czech Republic in reaction to the environment and to ascertain which strategy is the most advantageous for multinational and domestic companies. First, the development and contemporary state of theory relating to strategy-environment relationship are analyzed and a conceptual model is proposed. Second, the empirical data are used to reveal which strategies are pursued by multinational and domestic companies in dynamic and hostile environment. Finally, the performance implications of strategies deployed by the two types of companies are examined.
