Living toponymy in Valtice

Abstract:

Předkládaná bakalářská práce se zabývá toponymií na katastru obce Valtice v okrese Břeclav. Cílem práce je prozkoumat především živá, nestandardizovaná toponyma na daném území, vytvořit slovník hesel a následně toponyma analyzovat podle vybraných kategorií. Materiál potřebný k získání hesel vychází z vlastního terénního výzkumu, odborné literatury a z historických i současných map. Na základě dotazníkového šetření je ověřena znalost a frekvence hesel, která je zahrnuta v heslové části. Výsledný slovník a analýza toponym shromažďují živá a měnící se pojmenování v oblasti pohraničí, význam práce tedy spočívá především v zachycení těchto pojmenování v současné podobě.

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis deals with toponymy in the cadastre of Valtice located in the Břeclav district. The aim of the thesis is to study mainly "living", non-standardized toponyms in Valtice, to create a dictionary of entries and then to analyse them according to the selected categories. The material needed to collect the names is based on our own field research, literature, historical and contemporary maps. Based on the questionnaire survey, the knowledge and frequency of the entries included in the dictionary section is verified. The resulting dictionary and analysis of toponyms collects living and changing names in the border region, so the importance of this thesis is primarily to capture these names in their current form.
