Solution proposal of teaching Health IT at Czech universities

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce je zaměřená na problematiku Health IT a její výuku na vysokých školách v podmínkách České republiky. Cílem práce je přinést ucelený koncept výuky Health IT od identifikace oblastí, na které je nutné se zaměřit, přes literaturu, která je velkou podporou pro výuku, až k výukovým materiálům, jež předávají studentům informace z daných oblastí. Koncept výuky dále obsahuje způsob, jakým by mělo být studentům umožňovat se vzdělávat, a návrh, jak ukončit předmět. Práce je rozdělena do dvou částí – první, která vytyčuje pojem Health IT se všemi jeho informačními systémy a subsystémy, jejich propojení a standardy komunikace mezi nimi. Zároveň je prezentována rešerše literatury, která sumarizuje dostupné zdroje o Health IT a přístupu k výuce této problematiky. Druhá část, klíčová, obsahuje informace o současném stavu výuky Health IT jak na českých, tak evropských vysokých školách, rozhovory se studenty, absolventy a vedoucími IT úseků zdravotnických zařízení. Tyto informace byly výchozím bodem pro návrh výuky, který je taktéž obsahem této části. Návrh obsahuje oblasti pro výuku, které jsou klíčové jak pro lékaře, tak personál IT oddělení, literaturu, výukové materiály a doporučení, jak celý předmět vyučovat.

Abstract:

This diploma thesis is focused on the issue of Health IT and its teaching at universities in the conditions of the Czech Republic. The aim of the thesis is to bring a comprehensive concept of teaching Health IT from the identification of areas to focus on, through the literature, which is a great support for teaching, to learning materials providing information from areas identificated. The concept of teaching also includes the way in which students should be allowed to study and a proposal on how to complete the course. The work is divided into two parts - the first, which outlines the concept of Health IT with all its information systems and subsystems, their interconnections and communication standards. At the same time, a literature research is presented, which summarizes the available resources on Health IT and the approach to teaching this issue. The second part, the key part, contains information on the current state of Health IT teaching at both Czech and European universities, interviews with students, graduates and heads of IT departments of medical facilities. This information was the starting point for the design of teaching, which is also the content of this section. The proposal contains areas for teaching, which are key for both doctors and IT staff, literature, learning materials and recommendations on how to teach the whole subject.
