Application for music theory training

Abstract:

The aim of this work is to create a web application primarily intended for students of primary art schools in Slovakia. It consists of tasks that are adjusted to content (they test syllabus determined by curriculum) and type (they are inspired by tasks that are traditional part of music classes). Moreover, it is designed in the Slovak language. In the introduction the text attachment of the work describes motives that led to creation of the work. It also deals with current trends in teaching music and explains music theory terms related to the test syllabus. Then it presents pros and cons of similarly oriented applications that are available on the Internet and describes the design of tasks, their purpose and application in practice. Before the the conclusion, it discusses problems associated with application implementation and in the conclusion presents results of small-scale testing and suggestions for extension.

Abstract:

Cieľom tejto práce je vytvoriť webovú aplikáciu určenú v prvom rade žiakom základných umeleckých škôl na Slovensku. Skladá sa z úloh, ktoré sú pre nich prispôsobené obsahovo (tesujú učivo určené aktuálnymi učebnými osnovami) aj typovo (sú inšpirované úlohami, ktoré sú tradičnou súčasťou hodín hudobnej náuky). Čo je tiež dôležité, je lokalizovaná do slovenského jazyka. Textová príloha práce v úvode popisuje motívy, ktoré viedli k vzniku práce. Ďalej sa zaoberá súčasnými trendmi vo výučbe hudobnej náuky a vysvetľuje pojmy z hudobnej teórie, ktoré súvisia s testovanou látkou. Následne prezentuje klady a zápory podobne zameraných aplikácií, ktoré sú dostupné na internete a popisuje návrh jednotlivých úloh, ich cieľ a uplatnenie v praxi. Pred samotným záverom rozoberá problémy spojené s implementáciou aplikácie a v závere prezentuje výsledky drobného testovania a návrhy na rozšírenie.
