Use of clay materials in the litter of fattened chickens

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce se zabývá snížením množství amoniaku a oxidu uhličitého v halách během intenzivního výkrmu brojlerových kuřat. Pokus byl proveden během výkrmu, který trval 31. dní na 492 ks kuřat hybrida Ross 308, kdy se do podestýlky aplikoval biouhel a jílový minerál o různé hrubosti částic a různé koncentraci. Kotce byly ošetřeny 10 % jílu o hrubosti 0–1 mm a pak 20 % stejným preparátem. Tyto hodnoty se opakovaly s jílem o velikosti částic 1–5 mm a také biouhel byl aplikován ve stejném množství. Kontrolní skupiny kuřat se vykrmovaly na podestýlce z hoblin bez ošetření preparáty. Koncentrace amoniaku během výkrmu byly nižší než v kontrolní skupině, která měla hodnoty 4 ppm oproti ošetřeným kotcům s biouhlem (10 %–20 %), která měla hodnoty 2 ppm až 31. den výkrmu. U oxidu uhličitého se naměřené hodnoty v pokusných skupinách držely níže než u kontrolní skupiny. Byla zjištěná hodnota u jílu v množství 10 % o velikosti částic 0–1 mm, kdy koncentrace se držela pod 0,05 ppm celou dobu pokusu.

Abstract:

This diploma thesis deals with the reduction of ammonia and carbon dioxide in halls during intensive fattening of broiler chickens. The experiment was performer on 492 chickens of the Ross 308 hybrid during a fattening that lasted 31 days, for which biochar and clay mineral with different particle roughness and different concentration were applied to the litter. The pens were prepared with 10 % clay with a thickness of 0-1 mm and then 20 % with the same preparation. These values were repeated with clay of a particle size of 1-5 mm and also biochar was applied in the same amount. Control groups of chickens were fattened on a shavings litter without the treatment with preparation. Ammonia concentrations during fattening were lower than in the control group, which had values of 4 ppm, compared to the prepared pens with biochar (10 % –20 %), which had values of 2 ppm no sooner than the 31st day of the fattening. As for the carbon dioxide, the measured values for the experimental groups stayed lower than for the control group. The value for clay was found in the amount of 10 % with a particle size of 0-1 mm, the concentration stayed below 0.05 ppm throughout the entire experiment.
