Extension of BI solution for a banking virtual assistant

Abstract:

Téma diplomové práce je zaměřeno na optimalizaci a rozšíření Business Intelligence reportingového řešení pro virtuálního asistenta vyvíjeného ve společnosti ČSOB. Práce vychází z praktických zkušeností získaných během studentské praxe v této společnosti. Cílem je obohacení a zlepšení funkcionalit stávajícího řešení, což by mělo přinést nové analytické možnosti, zvýšit robustnost a zlepšit uživatelskou přívětivost pro zaměstnance využívající služby BI reportingového týmu. Dílčím cílem je zhodnocení rozšířeného BI reportingového řešení a doporučení pro další úpravy. Součástí by mělo být i šetření času a technické infrastruktury. Práce nejprve představuje prostředí BI reportingového řešení virtuálního asistenta v rámci ČSOB, včetně samotné společnosti, virtuálního asistentky Kate a týmu pracujícího na tomto projektu. Poté se práce zaměřuje na popis stávajícího reportingového řešení a procesů spojených s jeho vývojem. Hlavní část je věnována analýze a implementaci inovací, které vedou k dosažení stanovených cílů a přinášejí tak hodnotu pro společnost ČSOB. To vše za pomoci projektu diplomové práce, obsahujícího několik dílčích podprojektů. Výsledkem jsou nejen splněná business zadání, ale i implementované vlastní nápady a funkcionality aktivně využívané při analýze virtuálního asistenta. Veškeré navržené změny i vylepšení byly diskutovány s relevantními zaměstnanci ČSOB, kterým byla předána i doporučení pro budoucí vývoj.

Abstract:

The thesis is focused on optimization and extension of Business Intelligence reporting solution for virtual assistant developed in ČSOB. Drawing from practical experience gained during a student internship at the company, the goal is to enhance and refine the existing solution. This enhancement is aimed at introducing new analytical capabilities, bolstering robustness, and improving user-friendliness for employees utilizing the services of the BI reporting team. Additionally, the crucial goal is to evaluate the extended BI reporting solution and make recommendations for further modifications, including considerations for time-saving measures and technical infrastructure. The thesis commences by introducing the BI reporting solution environment for the virtual assistant within ČSOB, encompassing the company itself, the virtual assistant named Kate, and the team dedicated to this project. Subsequently, it delves into the description of the current reporting solution and the associated development processes. The majority of the thesis focuses on analyzing and implementing innovations intended to achieve predefined objectives and deliver added value to ČSOB. These innovations are realized through a structured project comprising several sub-projects. The outcome of this thesis encompasses not only the fulfillment of business tasks but also the implementation of original ideas and functionalities actively utilized in analyzing the virtual assistant. All proposed changes and enhancements undergo thorough discussions with relevant ČSOB employees, who are also provided with recommendations for future development.
