Importance of the method CCL for keratoconus stabilization

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce se zabývá významem metody CCL pro stabilizaci keratokonu. Teoretická část práce je rozčleněna do čtyř kapitol, v nichž se postupně věnuje anatomii a fyziologii rohovky, keratokonu, dalším ektatickým onemocněním a nakonec samotné metodě CCL. Praktická část je zaměřena na ověření mechanických změn, které nastávají po provedení metody collagen cross-linking. Zdrojem kolagenu je v této práci želatina. Pomocí tahové zkoušky byly porovnány mechanické změny želatinových vzorků po provedení metody collagen cross-linking se vzorky kontrolními, které touto metodou upraveny nebyly.

Abstract:

This work deals with the importance of the method CCL for keratoconus stabilization. The theoretical part is devided into four chapters including anatomy and fyziology of the cornea, keratoconus, other ectatic deseases and finally the method of corneal collagen cross-linking. Practical research is focused on verification of the mechanical changes which appear after performing of collagen cross-linking. The source of collagen is gelatine in this study. Due to the stress-strain test it was possible to compare mechanical changes of gelatine after collagen cross-linking with the control sets.
