Hormonal contraception and its effects on women’s health

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce „ Hormonální antikoncepce a její vlivy na zdraví ženy“ se zaobírá hormonálními typy antikoncepce a jejími pozitivy a negativy. Je rozdělena na dvě části a to na část teoretickou a praktickou. V teoretické části popisuji historický vývoj hormonální antikoncepce dále řízení a fáze menstruačního cyklu. V další kapitole pak popisuji typy hormonální antikoncepce a její pozitiva a negativa, což je hlavní téma této práce. Kromě fyzických změn se budu snažit vylíčit i změny chování, které se objevují nejen u hormonální antikoncepce, ale i u fyziologického menstruačního cyklu ženy. V praktické části pomocí pilotáže a kvalitativního výzkumu, který zahrnuje 12 rozhovorů, zjišťuji informovanost žen o účincích a možných rizicích hormonální antikoncepce a z jakých zdrojů tyto informace obdržely. Hlavním zjištěním této práce tedy je informovanost žen o účincích a možných rizicích hormonální antikoncepce. Mezi hlavní výsledky tohoto výzkumu patří, informovanost o mechanismu účinku, která je pouze poloviční. Dále znalost rizik užívání, kde 8 žen uvedlo riziko vzniku trombózy, další odpovědi byly různorodé. Co se týče zdrojů informací, pouze polovina žen byla dostatečně informována gynekologem, ostatní ženy jsou informovány jak od gynekologa, tak z jiných zdrojů, či pouze z jiných zdrojů informací.

Abstract:

Bachelor thesis „ Hormonal contraception and its effects on women`s health“ is concerned of types of hormonal contraception and its positives and negatives. This thesis is divided into two parts. The first part is theoretical a the second part is practical. In the theoretical part I will describe historical development of hormonal contraception, control and phases of menstrual cycle. In the next chapter I will describe the types of hormonal contraception and its negatives and positives, which is the main topic of this bachelor thesis. I will describe expect physical changes psychic changes too, which are appearing at use hormonal contraception and during mentrual cycle. In the practical part I will find out women`s awareness about hormonal contraception and its effects and risks. I will do it by using piloting, which is composed by 52 questionnaires and 12 interviews with women, who use hormonal contraception. The main finding of this bachelor thesis is therefore women`s awareness about effect and possible riks of hormonal contraception. The main results of research include awareness of the mechanism of action, which is only half. Further only eight women answered the risk of thrombosis and other responses was varied to the question about risks of hormonal contraception. In terms of resources of information, only half of all women was informated by a gynecologist, other women was informated by a gynecologist and other sources or only by other sources of information.
