Abstract:

Národní jednota severočeská působila na Ústecku v letech 1892-1938. Zaměřovala se na systematickou podporu zdejší české menšiny, přičemž mimo kulturní a ekonomickou oblast kladla zvláštní důraz na zřizování a podporu českých škol. Období před vznikem ČSR lze charakterizovat především zápasy za emancipaci českých menšin, které NJS sváděla zejména s místními obecními zastupitelstvy. Po roce 1918 došlo k největšímu rozvoji NJS, který se mimo nárůst činnosti projevil i značným množstvím nově vzniklých místních odborů. V tomto období se mimo jiné projevily některé rozpory mezi oficiálními postoji NJS a praxí odborů na Ústecku, ale také častý problém, kterým bylo zasahování osobních sporů a animozit do činnosti spolku. Po vynuceném přerušení činnosti v letech okupace došlo po roce 1945 k pokusům obnovovat místní odbory, nesetkaly se však s úspěchem.

Abstract:

The National Unity of Northern Bohemia (Národní jednota severočeská, NJS) was active in district of Ústí nad Labem in 1892-1938. NJS focused on the systematic support of the local Czech minority, with a special emphasis on the establishment and support of Czech schools in addition to the cultural and economic spheres. The period before the establishment of the Czechoslovak Republic can be characterised by the struggles for the emancipation of Czech minorities, which the NJS fought especially with local municipal councils. After 1918, the greatest development of the NJS took place, which, in addition to the increase in activity, was manifested by a considerable number of newly established local branches. This period showed, among other things, some contradictions between the official positions of the NJS and the practice of the local branches in district of Ústí nad Labem, but also a frequent problem, which was the interference of personal disputes and animosities in the activities of the association. After the forced interruption of activities during the years of occupation, attempts were made to rebuild the local branches after 1945, but they did not meet with success.
