Virtual Microscopy

Abstract:

Cílem diplomové práce bylo převzít poslední verzi upravené webové aplikace Virtuální mikroskop, která slouží pro zobrazení patologických snímků ve velmi vysokém rozlišení (řádově několik gigapixelů) a upravit ji – například rozšířit o možnost správy anotací, synchronizaci mezi prohlížeči v rámci sezení, zajistit podporu v aktuálně používaných internetových prohlížečích a celkově přepracovat datový model staré aplikace. Jako rozšíření diplomní práce nad rámec původního zadání lze zmínit implementaci šesti uživatelských práv, kompletní správu definic snímku pomocí webového rozhraní mikroskopu až po možnost odeslat adresu aktuální pozice ve snímku. Výstupem diplomové práce je samotný text práce a kód upravené aplikace Virtuálního mikroskopu včetně jeho dokumentace. Aplikace je od 26. 3. 2013 funkčně nasazena v ostrém provozu webového portálu Atlases pro téměř 12 tisíc patologických snímků.

Abstract:

The goal of this thesis was to take over the last version of the modified web application Virtual microscope which serves for viewing pathological pictures in a very high resolution (numerous gigapixels) and to modify it – for example to extend it by annotations managing possibility, synchronization among the web browsers during the session, to ensure the support in currently used web browsers and to totally change the old data model. The work has reached beyond the original thesis goal. For example implementation of six types of user rights, complete management of the picture definition through web interface and feature to send link representing the actual position of the viewed picture. The output of this thesis is the text itself, the code of created Virtual microscope application and the documentation on this code. Since 26th March 2013, the application is available in public part of the Atlases web portal with almost 12 thousand pathological pictures.
