Interpopulation Differences in Frequencies of Dermatoglyphic Minutiae

Abstract:

V této bakalářské práci se věnujeme rozdílům ve frekvencích minucií epidermálních lišt u tří populačních vzorků. Sledovanými populacemi jsou česká, lužicko-srbská a vietnamská. U 120 (40 českých, 40 lužicko-srbských a 40 vietnamských) jedinců jsme zaznamenali počty ulnárních a radiální vidliček, ulnárních a radiálních konců linií a ostrůvků a krátkých linií. Jedinci se odlišují podle původu, pohlaví a vzoru na palci. Další z proměnných je poloha, u každého z jedinců jsou minucie počítány zvlášť na palci pravé ruky a zvlášť na hypothenaru pravé dlaně. Výsledky jsou posouzeny podle grafů popisné statistiky, Pearsonova testu nezávislosti a neparametrického Kruskalova-Wallisova testu. Na základě Pearsonova testu jsme odhalili statisticky významný nižší počet ulnárních vidliček u vietnamské populace na palcích, který nám potvrdily i metody mnohonásobného porovnávání. Dalším statisticky významným výsledkem je vyšší počet ulnárních konců na palcích české populace. Na dlaních jsme nenašli žádné statisticky významné rozdíly.

Abstract:

In this bachelor thesis we study the differences in frequencies of dermatoglyphic minutiae in three population samples. The monitored populations are Czech, Lusatian Sorbs and Vietnamese. In 120 (40 Czech, 40 Lusatian Sorbs and 40 Vietnamese) individuals we recorded the numbers of ulnar and radial forks, ulnar and radial ends of lines and isles and short lines. Individuals differ in their origin, gender, and pattern on the thumb. Another of the variables is the position, for each of the individuals the minutiaes are counted separately on the right thumb and on the hypothenar of the right palm. The results are assessed using graphical statistics, Pearson's independence test, and the nonparametric Kruskal-Wallis test. Based on the Pearson's test, we have revealed a statistically significant lower number of ulnar forks in the Vietnamese population on thumbs, which has also been confirmed by the multiple comparison methods. Another statistically significant result is the higher number of ulnar ends on the thumbs of the Czech population. On the palms we did not find any statistically significant differences.
