Self-concept and self-esteem ot the intellectually gifted childern

Abstract:

Tato práce vznikala v kontextu rozvíjející se péče o nadané děti v České republice a zvyšujícího se zájmu odborné i laické veřejnosti o tuto problematiku i vzhledem k neoddiskutovatelnému významu sebehodnocení nejen pro kvalitu podávaného výkonu člověka, ale také pro jeho značný vliv na celkovou úroveň psychosociálního přizpůsobení i kvalitu života. Hlavním cílem našeho zkoumání bylo identifikovat rozdíly v profilech sebehodnocení vztažených k jednotlivým komponentám sebepojetí a celkovém sebehodnocení mezi skupinami rozumově nadaných dětí a dětí s průměrným nadáním. Vycházeli jsme z komponentových koncepcí nadání a osobnostně vývojového přístupu ke studiu nadání. Do výzkumu jsme zařadili působení dalších mimointelektových charakteristik – tvořivost, osobnostní rysy dítěte a matky, vybrané anamnestické rodinné údaje, citový vztah s rodiči a sourozencem, handicap. Výzkum zahrnoval také vnímání dostačivosti vztažené k jednotlivým oblastem sebepojetí (kromě celkového sebehodnocení) z pohledu pedagogů dětí.

Abstract:

This work was developed in the context of developing care for gifted children in the Czech Republic and increasing the interest of professionals and the uninformed public about this matter, also in aspect of the unexceptional importance of self-image not only for the quality of the empowerment of the person, but also for the significant influence on the whole level of psychosocial adaptation and also of the quality of life.The main goal of our investigation was to identify the differences in the profiles of the self-image related to individual components of the self-concept and the whole self-image between groups of intellectually gifted children and children with average ability. The leading materials were taken from the component conceptions of abilities and a character developmental approach for studying of ability. We included in the research the effect of other intellectual-related characteristics – creativity, personality characteristics of a child and mother, chosen anamnestic family data, emotional relationship with the parents and a sibling, and a handicap. The research also included the understanding of the sufficiency associated with each individual area of self-concept (except the general self-image) from the point of view of the children’s teachers.
