Needs of patient with chronic kidney disease

Abstract:

Cíl: V bakalářské práci jsem si vytyčila cíl zmapovat biologické, psychické, sociální a duchovní potřeby pacientky, léčené se závažným onemocněním ledvin. Metodika: Bakalářská práce je rozdělena na dvě části, na teoretickou a empirickou. Teoretickou část tvoří kapitoly, které jsou určeny k seznámení s problematikou pacientů trpících chronickým onemocněním ledvin. Úvod této části je věnován především složení ledvin a důležitosti jejich správné funkce pro zdraví člověka. Hlavní důraz je kladen na lidské potřeby pacientů s tak vážným onemocněním. Empirická část je zpracována formou případové studie konkrétní pacientky, která laboruje s onemocněním ledvin (glomerulonefritidou). Přehledně a systematicky jsou v ní seřazeny informace o dlouhodobém průběhu nemoci a také o nutném uspokojování potřeb této pacientky. Informace pro tuto práci byly získávány formou nestandardizovaného rozhovoru s pacientkou, rodinnými příslušníky a ze zdravotní dokumentace. Výsledky: Práce zachycuje zhruba dvacet let života pacientky s nemocnými ledvinami. Je v ní podchycena skutečnost, jak tato choroba ovlivňovala kvalitu jejího života a také to, jak docházelo ke změnám jejích potřeb v jednotlivých fázích onemocnění. V počátcích, kdy byla pacientka ještě v pracovním procesu, postačovalo saturovat především její fyziologické potřeby. Při zhoršování zdravotního stavu vystupuje do popředí nutnost komunikace a osobního porozumění ze strany zdravotního personálu (lékařů, sester). V rozhodujících fázích léčby (hemodialýza, transplantace) je důležité upevňovat víru pacienta v úspěšnost léčby a zajišťovat maximální podporu rodiny a blízkých. Závěr: Tato bakalářská práce se věnuje problematice pacientů s chronickým onemocněním ledvin. Jejím účelem je pomoci všem ošetřujícím osobám porozumět potřebám nemocných a co nejlépe tyto potřeby uspokojovat.

Abstract:

Objective: In this Bachelor thesis, I defined the aim of mapping the biological, psychological, social and spiritual needs of a patient with a serious kidney disease. Methodology: This Bachelor thesis is divided into two parts - the theoretical part and the empirical one. The theoretical part consists of the chapters dedicated to the introduction to problems of patients suffering from a chronic kidney disease. The preamble is devoted to the composition of kidneys and the importance of their correct functionality for a human?s health. The primary emphasis is put on human needs of patients with such a grave illness. The empirical part is elaborated in the form of a case study of a real patient struggling with the kidney disease (Glomerulonephritis). The individual pieces of information about the long-term progress of the illness and also about the essential satisfying the needs of the patient are sorted clearly and systematically. The pieces of information were gathered by means of a non-standardized interview with the patient, her family members as well as from the medical records. Results: The life period of approximately 20 years of the patient with the kidney disease is depicted in this thesis. The way how the illness was affecting the quality of her life is described here as well as how her needs were changing in each stage of the disease. At the beginning, as long as the patient was working, it was sufficient to saturate her physiologic needs. The necessity of both the communication and the personal understanding by the medical staff (doctors, nurses) comes into the foreground at the health deterioration. In the crucial stages of the treatment (haemodialysis, transplantation), it is important to reinforce the trust of the patient in a successful treatment and assure the maximum support of her family and close people. Conclusion: This Bachelor thesis is devoted to the problems of patients with the chronic kidney disease. Its objective is to help all nursing staff understand the needs of patients and to satisfy them in the best possible way.
