Homosexual minority in the context of generational perspectives in society

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce je zaměřena na problematiku vnímání homosexuality jako takové, a především na postoj naší společnosti k homosexuální menšině. Zabývá se otázkou přístupů jednotlivých generací k různým projevům homosexuálních jedinců, tzn. zdali je naše společnost vyhraněna pouze k některému charakteristickému chování gayů a lesbiček (event. bisexuálů) nebo jestli odmítá tuto orientaci jako celek. Kromě jednotlivých generací uvádí tato diplomová práce postoje jednotlivých pohlaví, tedy postoj mužů a žen a v neposlední řadě analyzuje míru tolerance jedinců podle místa bydliště či dosaženého vzdělání. Dotkneme se i problematiky postojů a předsudků a toho, zdali jsou lidé ve svých názorech celoživotně jednotní nebo během života mění pohled na dané téma.

Abstract:

This thesis is focused on the perception of homosexuality as such, and especially on the attitude of our society towards the homosexual minority. It examines the attitudes of different generations to various manifestations of homosexual individuals, ie. whether our society takes a clear-cut stance towards some of the characteristic behaviors of gays and lesbians (event. bisexual) only or if it rejects this orientation as a whole. In addition to those of different generations the thesis presents gender attitudes, that of men and women and, finally, analyses the degree of tolerance of individuals by place of residence and educational attainment. We will also touch the issue of attitudes and prejudices and look into whether people´s opinions remain unaltered or are changing throughout their life.
