Reform requierements on clerics and lay people in Admont Quadragesimale

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se věnuje otázce rozdílného vnímání role kleriků a laiků v reformě církve a společnosti na konci 14. století. Tato otázka je sledována ve dvou pramenech homiletického žánru, nejprve ve sbírce postních kázání, zachovaných v tzv. Quadragesimale admontském, druhým zdrojem je kázání známé jako Sermo de Pace (Řeč o míru). Ze slov obou kazatelů je vysledován konkrétní apel na morální nápravu církve a společnosti - ta je sledována ve dvou rovinách: v rovině lidí duchovních a laických. Speciální důraz je věnován apelu kazatelů na osobní zodpovědnost kněží a řeholníků v reformě.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis is devoted to the issue of different perceptions of the role of clerics and laymen in the reform of the church and society at the end of the 14th century. This question is tracked in two sources of the homiletic genre, first in a collection of Lenten sermons, preserved in the so-called Admont Quadragesimale, the second source is a sermon known as Sermo de Pace (Speech about Peace). From the words of both preachers, a concrete appeal for the moral correction of the church and society can be traced - this is observed on two levels: on the level of spiritual and lay people. Special emphasis is given to the preachers' appeal to the personal responsibility of priests and religious in the reform.
