The Profession of Manager in the Hotel Industry

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce je zaměřena na charakteristiku, osobnost a požadované kompetence manažera v hotelnictví. Cílem této práce je provést dotazování manažerů v oboru hotelnictví, na základě zjištěných informací identifikovat požadavky kladené na profesi manažera ve vybraných organizacích v oboru hotelnictví, které by měli být pro manažery účinně využitelné v praxi. Cílem této práce je provést výzkum v oblasti hotelnictví a s jeho pomocí zjistit, jaké požadavky jsou kladeny na profesi manažera ve vybraných organizacích v oboru hotelnictví. Zjištěné informace by měly být pro manažery využitelné v praxi. Bakalářská práce je rozdělena na dvě části: teoretickou a praktickou. Teoretická část se věnuje důležitým pojmům spojeným s osobností manažera a hlavně náplní jeho práce. V aplikované části práce je pomocí dotazníkového šetření znázorněn současný manažer. V závěru práce jsem vyzdvihla nutnost některých vlastností pro výkon práce manažera.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis is focused at the characteristics, personality and competencies required from a manager in the hotel industry.The purpose of this work is to perform questioning of hotel industry’s managers and based on acquired information, identify requirements for the profession of a manager in select organizations of the hotel industry, which should be effective and utilizable by the managers in practice.The bachelor thesis is divided into two parts – theoretical and practical. The theoretical part is devoted to introduction of important terms connected with the personality of a manager and, most notably, their job description. The practical part depicts a contemporary manager through the usage of surveys. In the conclusion, I emphasized the necessity of certain qualities required for the work of a manager.
